Monthly Note

March 1, 2023

March, 2023

March aready!  February was nothing to write home about; the S&P 500 was down a few %, which was no surprise after such a fantastic January.  Markets are still up for the year, and are still heavily influenced by what the fed is expected to do.

The economic news is all over the place.  There is plenty of good news regarding the health of the economy, but I don’t think anyone thinks we’re going to rocket out of this stock market slump we’re in.  Unemployment remains at record lows, but inflation is showing signs it may get a little “sticky” and remain higher than the fed likes.  If you are interested, I do a little current event recap every Tuesday, called Mike Reads the Journal, which you can find on my youtube channel.

Tax season is here, and “most” tax forms are out.  If you are having any trouble finding them, or just want to double check, do not hesitate to call the office, we’ll be happy to help.

I will be starting monthly webinars, including one this month, Risk - A Different Perspective, March 15 at 11am. To register please click here.  They will also be available to watch after the fact on my youtube channel.

Lynn will be reaching out for a lot of annual appointments that are due over the coming 2-3 months, but don’t wait if you want to get in for an appointment.  You can book them from the link on my website, or simply call or email.

I hope everyone is surviving this winter, in Idaho it’s been a whopper.  Spring should be here soon!  I’m finishing up my last season as a hockey parent, which feels strange.  My twins are off to college this fall.

Sincerely,

Michael Canavan
