Monthly Note
July 1, 2021
Hello,
No news is good news? The only real change from last month is the Fed meeting that happened. Inflation target got moved up a bit and they talked rate hikes, but nothing in the immediate future. Markets have come back up to the top of the “resistance bands” that they’ve been trading in for the last few months. All things considered not much to talk about since the last letter.
Inflation, interest rates, and China are all at the top of the headlines. It’s easy to get sucked up into the media frenzy that seems to dominate our attention lately. The next 5 years is going to be very interesting. How the world handles China and the economic impact of the coronavirus stimulus spending is something I spend a lot of time looking at. If you are at all concerned or interested, feel free to call or schedule an appointment. I’m far from an expert, but I might be able to help you understand the situation.
Lynn and I are scheduling appointments and travel for the second half of the year now. I am around all summer long, we are not travelling for vacation. However, our family is virtually all in Upstate NY, and I haven’t seen them since well before COVID. They are all coming to see us in Idaho over the summer. It’s going to be a revolving door until early August. I will be around and working throughout it, but will be in and out of the office frequently. We are setting a number of appointments, but if you’d like to come in and talk, I recommend setting something up through Lynn (208-534-7660), I may not be immediately available for drop ins. You can always call me on my desk phone (208-534-7659) or cell(518-744-0927), both of which will ring to my cell. When my assistant Lynn is out of the office or at lunch, her phone will ring through to Kelsey, a member of my partner Jake’s team. Kelsey is wonderful, but she does not have access to your accounts and can’t process any requests. She will take a message or get you in touch with Lynn or I.
Everyone stay healthy and safe this summer.
