Monthly Note

January 18, 2022

Hello!

Mid-month update! Exciting! Markets have been turbulent, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are down about 5% and 8% respectively since January 1st, as of writing this letter. Nothing to be alarmed about, downturns allow us to make changes to portfolios and help the market normalize a bit after such rapid growth. I get more worried about markets that do nothing but go up, over markets that go through the occasional pullback. However, it will probably get worse before it starts getting better, and I’m watching the situation very closely. Do not hesitate to call, I’m happy to talk through your specific situation at any time. Especially since I’ll probably have some time on my hands...

My daughter just tested positive for COVID. She has what would be described as a “bad cold” and there is no reason to worry. Based on the virality of Omicron and how small my house is, I can only assume we will all get it. We’ve all had it before and are fully vaccinated, so we’re not worried. I’m going to be putting off in office appointments for a week or so, until I can be sure I won’t be contagious. We’ll be reaching out to everyone with a physical appointment scheduled. I am working from home, which is fully functional, and Lynn is in the office normally. I am happy to do zoom appointments until I’m sure I won’t be contagious. As always, call with anything.

David’s hockey team got 2nd out of 8 teams this past weekend, their best performance of the season!
